Each scout is required to have and wear, within a reasonable amount of time after joining the Troop, the following uniform items:
Field Uniform (a.k.a. Class A):
- Tan Scout shirt, tucked into pants, with appropriate insignia and patches: SVMB Council shoulder patch, olive green shoulder loops, patrol emblem, troop number (obtained from Troop).
- Neckerchief (any)
- Neckerchief slide (any – can be purchased or made by Scout - recommended to not buy the metal one because they fall off)
- Any of the following pants are acceptable with any belt:
- blue or black (denim) jeans
- olive green official Scout pants or shorts
- Venturing gray, olive green, or blue denim shorts
- non-white socks if wearing shorts.
- Boy Scout cap (if outdoors).
- Boy Scout web belt and buckle (or any green, black, or leather belt).
- Tennis shoes or hiking boots. Socks are required.
Ceremonial Uniform (in addition to Field Uniform):
- Merit badge sash
- OA sash (if in the OA)
- Medals (if any)
- Troop neckerchief slide
- Troop 792 neckerchief
Activity Uniform (worn, as instructed by Troop leadership, when activities may cause damage to the Field Uniform), a.k.a. Class B:
- Troop 792 T-Shirt (obtain from Troop 792).
- Tennis shoes or hiking boots.
- Scout pants or shorts are optional.
- Boy Scout cap.

Scout supplies are sold at the Council headquarters Scout Shop, 970 W. Julian St., San Jose, and at the Scout Shop in Salinas (919 North Main Street, Salinas, CA 93906). (If you are going to drive round-trip from Gilroy, the Salinas location is recommended due to traffic.)
