Outdoor essentials according to camping MB:
- Pocketknife
- First aid kit
- Extra Clothing and rain gear
- Water bottle
- Flashlight
- Trail food
- Matches and fire starters
- Sun protection
- Map and compass
Recommended "regular" campout checklist:
- tent (including stakes)
- groundcloth or "footprint"
- sleeping bag (appropriate for climate) and pad
- beanie (especially for cold weather)
- spaceblanket (optional, but good for emergency)
- compass
- flashlight
- insect repellant
- toilet paper
- matches
- shoestrings and or nylon cord
- water bottle(s)
