Quartermasters

The job of the Quartermaster (QM) is to store (in a garage - not out in the weather) and take care of Troop equipment, mainly patrol boxes (which are each accompanied by a propane tank). For storing such, the Scout receives a QM patch.

Each time the patrol box is used on a campout, the Cook checks it out from the QM. When it is returned to the QM, the QM and the Cook go through it together to make sure everything is put back clean and in good condition. The QM makes note of replaceables such as paper towels and the backup (small) propane can. Each time the QM does this (limited to once a month), he gets credit for one month of service in a position of responsibility for advancement.
