December 7 through 9th Campout Details

Uvas Canyon Park, Upper Bench Youth Campground (Reservations need to be made.)

Schedule
Friday evening: Boy Scouts (and Webelos and P794 Bears with brothers in Boy Scouts) arrive in uniform, then leave uniforms in cars. Only hot cocoa provided. Rehearse songs for Saturday campfire. Review orientation for Cub Scouts.
Saturday
7:00 AM Reveille, build fire or prepare gas stove. Breakfast. Clean up. Prepare campsite for arrival of Cub Scouts.
9:30 AM Boy Scouts put on uniforms. Webelos and P794 Bears arrive in uniform and set up camp. Patrol Leaders (the group is broken into patrols) give orientation to their patrol members as they arrive.
12:00 noon Lunch.
1:00 PM Hike to the top of Knibbs Knob (elev. 2694 ft.). This is an ascent of over 1500 vertical feet (qualifying for part of the Camping Merit Badge). We will stop and rest as needed; this is not a race. Carry at least one water bottle.
Bear Req. 9e: Make some trail food for a hike.
4:00 PM One or more Boy Scouts will instruct Webelos who need to build a fire for their Outdoorsman AB.
4:30 PM Break into patrols to rehearse skits for Campfire.
Bear El. 25c.: Participate ... at a campfire.
5:00 PM Cooking crew begins dinner preparation.
6:00 PM Dinner.
7:00 PM Campfire.
Next Night hike (no flashlights).
Next Cracker barrel.
9:30 PM Lights out.
Sunday
7:00 AM Reveille, boil water for cocoa. Cold breakfast (rolls, etc.).
Next Break camp. Clean up area.
Final Scout's Own.
Bear El. 25e: Participate ... in a religious service during an overnight campout....
Review campout. Leave together at the same time.
