Planning for your son's Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

This COH is for the Scout; although the Troop (and or Crew) is also involved, it is ultimately the responsibility of the Eagle and his family to arrange. As always, draw from the unit (Troop, Crew) resources.

In preparation,

• find a location that does not charge for its use. Set the date for when both (a) your most special guests and (b) said building are available.
• Send out invitations to family and friends and officials. Click [here] for a link of national dignitaries. For a list of State, County, and City officials, contact the Troop Committee.
• If you are going to have a reception and or an after-party, be sure to request RSVP's in the invitations.
• Get people to commit ahead of time for each of the roles (presentations).

This is the general format we have followed since 2010:
MC: Greeting (have everyone take their seats)
Presentation of Colors and Pledge of Allegiance (often by members of the Scout's patrol)
Invocation (opening prayer)
Outdoor Code (often by current SPL)
Purpose of an Eagle Court of Honor (or Summary of Eagle requirements)
Trail To Eagle (candles, often by Troop members)
Call to Eagles
Introduction of the Eagle Candidate
Scoutmaster’s Minute
Eagle Challenge (This or the Charge is a required part.)
Hiking Stick
Troop Gift (bolo tie)
Graduation cord (if Eagle has not yet graduated high school)
U.S. Flag
Presentations by local officials (if any) and or family or friends
Eagle Award (parent pins first)
Eagle’s Minute
Scout Law
Benediction (closing prayer)
Retirement of Colors
